First, thanks for a great program!

More complete and up-to-date help info would be nice, but given that I've gotten close to 30 defs working fine already with just a bit of trial and error, I suppose it's not too big a deal. ;)

(And yes, I'll probably upload them when I'm sure I'm happy with 'em all.)

My question is, is there a way to download more than one comic from a single page? Some of the comics of interest to me occasionally (but not consistently) post two or even three images as a single page, and by default, only one of them gets downloaded by Woofy.

Woofy should download all images matching the regex argument, so I'm guessing that in your case the regex only matches the first image. You can fix this by having multiple download directives, each with a different regular expression, something like this:
